The Nampa School District joins the community in mourning the Aug. 14 passing of Merrill Anderson, who served as an exceptional NSD teacher, mentor and administrator from 1963-2005.
Merrill influenced students and staff as a teacher and head basketball coach at Nampa High School, an assistant principal at South Middle School, principal at West Middle School, assistant principal at Nampa High School, interim superintendent during a strike year, and finally as assistant superintendent. In 1990, he was named Principal of the Year for the state of Idaho.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, in the gym at South Middle School.
