The Nampa School District McKinney-Vento Program has partnered with NSD social workers to request donations of gift cards good at local restaurants and stores. The cards are targeted for older youth in need; last year, 173 students in need were provided with gift cards for Christmas.
Many Christmas programs like Toys for Tots serve kids 12 and younger. Older students often get left out, particularly those who may not be in the care of a guardian or parent. The gift cards give these youth a sense of autonomy in getting to select what they want, when they want it.
We are requesting gift cards in $10 increments to places like:
- Dutch Bros
- Chick-fil-A
- Subway
- Sonic
- McDonalds
- Starbucks
- Pizza (Dominos, Little Caesars, Papa John's, etc.)
- Sephora
- Panda Express
- JC Penney
- Amazon
- Old Navy
- Gas Stations
