English Language Learner Assessment (ACCESS)

English Learners in kindergarten through twelfth grade in our district take an annual assessment between the end of January to the beginning of March to measure their progress in developing English language skills, including listening, reading, speaking, and writing. This assessment helps us to evaluate the effectiveness of our English Language Development (ELD) program and identify areas where additional support may be needed. We also offer an Alternate Access Assessment for students with significant cognitive disabilities.

The kindergarten ACCESS assessment takes 45-60 minutes to complete. To complete all four subtests in first through twelfth grade the time varies from two hours forty-five minutes to three and a half hours.

Parent reports are received in the district in May of each year. These parent reports are then sent home to parents.
