You can request the school that is the best fit for your child. Open enrollment is available for parents who live inside or outside of the district boundaries.

Applications for Open Enrollment are now being accepted. All applications will be reviewed and considered based on eligible criteria and capacity. Families will be notified via email within 60 days by the requested school.

Please review the Open Enrollment Procedure before completing the application found at the end of this page.  Also note that ALL students must complete either the online New Student Enrollment or Returning Student Enrollment forms for the appropriate school year, even if they have already completed an Open Enrollment Application.

Important points to consider when applying include:

Transportation of open-enrolled students is the parent’s responsibility. District bussing is not available.

Open enrollment may be denied or revoked because of documented discipline or behavior infractions, documented chronic absences or attendance issues, and/or enrollment capacity limits reached by zoned students into a building or program.

Denials or revocations may be appealed by emailing studentservices@nsd131.org.

If you have questions, please contact Student Services at the District Office at studentservices@nsd131.org or by phone at (208) 468-4601, ext. 1080.

    5th and 8th Grade

  • Students attending area charter schools, private schools or those who are homeschooled and live within the NSD boundaries are eligible to take up to two academic courses and/or participate in athletic or extracurricular activities through the Nampa School District. Per Idaho Code 33-203, dual enrollment students who wish to participate in athletics, MUST participate at their zoned district school only. Parents must complete the Dual Enrollment Interest Form and complete all required registration forms, including uploading required documents, for their student in Final Forms prior to being approved. Students cannot participate until the dual enrollment registration is completed and they receive an approval email. After registration in Final Forms is complete and they have been approved, it is up to the student/parent to reach out to the school to schedule their academic courses or obtain sports specific information.

Middle school dual enrollment fees are $75 per student per activity and high school dual enrollment fees are $125 per student per activity. Additional activity fees will be assessed by the school.

If your student attends a charter school or private school, it is the parent/guardian's responsibility to check with the charter or private school to see if they have an agreement on file with the Nampa School District. If your charter or private school has an agreement on file with the Nampa School District for the applicable school year, the school will be billed for any district course or athletic participation fees that apply. Please check with your charter or private school to determine if they will bill you for participation fees.

Any course or athletic participation fees for homeschooled students and those whose school does not have an agreement on file with the Nampa School District, are the responsibility of the parent/guardian and must be paid before the end of the enrolled trimester. All dual enrollment fees must be paid before the student is eligible to participate in another course or activity.

  • The school year calendar can be found at Nampa School District Calendar.

  • Children may enter kindergarten if they are age 5 on or before Sept. 1. Children may enter first grade if they are age 6 on or by Sept. 1.

  • Our elementary schools serve students in grades K-5, our middle schools serve students in grades 6-8, and our high schools serve students in grades 9-12. Each school has a designated attendance zone. The primary residence (address) of the child's parent or legal guardian determines which school the student will attend.

The district offers an online tool for parents to check what school will serve their child. Parents also may call the district office at (208) 468-4600.

If you would like your child to attend a school outside your attendance zone, please complete an open enrollment application.

  • Parents of children new to our district are asked to complete an online pre-enrollment process and then visit their child’s school to finalize the enrollment. After completing the online process, you will be advised to bring various documents to a enrollment site. These include:

    • Proof of residency: the legal residence of the student's parent/guardian determines the student's designated attendance area. Examples of acceptable residency verification include a home telephone bill, gas bill, electricity bill, water/sewer/trash bill, a hook-up receipt to any of the above, a rental/lease/purchase agreement, mortgage statement, or a home internet or cable bill. The document must show a recent date (within 30 days), and the parent or legal guardian's name and service address.

The following documents are some examples of what is NOT acceptable: department store bills, driver's license, state ID, personalized checks, cell phone bills, house payment receipt, bank statements, credit card statements, medical bills, or vehicle registration and insurance.

    • Certified birth certificate. If a copy is unavailable at the time of enrollment, the parent/legal guardian has up to 30 days to submit the document to the school.

    • Immunization or shot record signed by a physician or physician’s representative. Click here to see what immunizations are required.

    • Transcripts and records regarding education and/or special services placement are helpful. If you have not already transferred your child's records, you may sign a record transfer request at the time of enrollment.

    • Legal guardians must provide certified proof of guardianship.

    • Parents of potential first-grade students (students who have attended kindergarten in another state, yet are underage for first-grade attendance in Idaho) must provide documentation from the child's previous school stating that the child has successfully completed 450 hours of approved kindergarten instruction.
  • If your student is joining mid-year, please check with your child’s school. Prior to the start of the school year, the district posts the suggested elementary supply list on our website. For middle and high schools, please check with the school.

  • The district contracts with First Student Bus Co. to provide transportation to and from school for eligible students. Prior to the start of school, bus routes and information can be found on the transportation page

  • Check with your child’s school for details about paying at school. You may qualify for free or reduced-priced meals; please check with your child’s school for an application. You also may pay online at My School Bucks. You will need your child’s student ID number to access this service; you may get this number by contacting your student’s school or contacting the Nutrition Services Office at (208) 468-4601, ext. 1278.

  • We encourage you to first contact the office of the school your child attends. If you have additional questions, you may contact Student Services at the District Office at studentservices@nsd131.org or (208) 468-4601, ext. 1080.
